 Direction for use:


  •  One 1mg tablet of Finasteride should be taken
    every day.
  •  It is possible to take
    finasteride or no food at all.
  •  Your doctor will continue to
    evaluate your treatment.
  • In general, it takes three to six
    months of daily use of one tablet before evidence of hair loss
    stabilisation can be expected. * * 
  • Continuous use is recommended for the
    maintenance of benefits. 
  • The use of Finasteride in women or
    children or adolescents is not indicated.

Side Effect:

Side Effect of Finasteride 1mg tablets

This treatment is only for use by men.

There’s always a risk of side effects
with any medicine you’re taking. Some are more common than others, and often
side effects can be reduced over time with regular use of the medicine. You
should tell us or your doctor if these side effects persist.

The following side effects are important and
will require immediate action if you experience them:

 If you experience any of the
following symptoms, stop taking this medicine and talk to your doctor
immediately or seek medical attention at a hospital emergency department.

Swelling of your
face, lips, tongue or throat

·       
Difficulty
swallowing

·       
Skin rash, itching,
lumps under your skin (hives)

·       
Breathing
difficulties


If you notice any of the following, talk to
your doctor straight away:

  • Lumps, pain, enlargement of the breast
    (chest) tissue or nipple discharge. These may be signs of a serious
    condition, such as breast cancer.

General warnings:

1.    
 Finasteride/
Dutasteride has in rare cases caused depression. If you develop any symptoms of
depression such as low mood please stop the medication straight away and
discuss it with a health care professional.

2.    
 Infertility has
been reported in men who took finasteride for a long time and had other risk
factors that may affect fertility; this should improve on discontinuation of
finasteride/ dutasteride. There have been no long term clinical studies on the
effects of finasteride on fertility in males.

3.    
Finasteride/dutasteride
can affect a PSA blood test result, so please inform your own doctor that you
are taking it.

4.    
 You should
promptly report to your doctor any changes in your breast tissue such as lumps,
pain, enlargement or nipple discharge as these may be signs of a serious
condition, such as breast cancer (very rare).

5.    
 It can cause
erectile dysfunction. Please email or call the pharmacy if you have any
questions about any of these.

6.    
 A small number of
men (less than 1%) may experience heart palpitations when taking finasteride
for the first time, especially if they are aged over 60.

How to store Finasteride 1 mg Tablets

  • Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
  • This medicinal product does not require any special storage
    conditions.
  • Do not use this medicine after the expiry date, which is
    stated on the carton after the letters EXP.
  • The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
  • Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household
    waste. Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines no longer use. These measures
    will help protect the environment.
