Direction for Use:

HALF a
tablet daily for 14 days then ONE daily thereafter.

Using Loniten (minoxidil) 2.5mg
tablets as an off-label treatment for hair loss:|

Patients
with elevated blood pressure are usually treated with Loniten (minoxidil) 2.5 mg tablets, but at very high doses than
hair loss therapy. However, for the treatment of hair loss in men it may also
be prescribed as “off label”. “offlabel” means that the
medicine is not initially authorised for the treatment of a condition but for
the treatment of another condition.

This means
that the treatment of hair loss with this medicinal product does not match the
conditions listed in the patient’s information leaflet. You should always
follow the instructions on the dispensing label on your medicine and contact us

Side Effect:

What are the side effects of Loniten?

Chest
discomfort that has recently developed or worsened

Chest pain
that has moved to your jaw or shoulder

Rapid or
pounding heartbeats

Swollen
legs, ankles, or feet

Fast
weight gain, especially around the face and belly

Shortness
of breath

A feeling
of impending faintness.

 

Very
common: may affect more than 1 in 10 people

Increased
heart rate, inflammation of the lining that surrounds the heart, abnormal
electrocardiogram (ECG), increased hair growth, and hair colour changes.

Common:
may affect up to 1 in 10 people

Accumulation
of fluid around the heart, compression of the heart due to a build-up of fluid,
and fluid retention.

Rare: may
affect up to 1 in 1,000 people

Decrease
in white blood cells, reduction in blood platelets, which increases the risk of
bleeding or bruising, serious illness with blistering of the skin, mouth, eyes
and genitals (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), inflammation and blistering of the
skin, rash. Not known: frequency cannot be estimated from the available data
Accumulation of fluid between the layers of tissue that line the lungs and
chest cavity, chest pains (angina), gastrointestinal disorders, swelling of the
ankles, feet or fingers associated with or independent of weight gain, breast
tenderness, reduced kidney function resulting in increased creatinine and urea
levels in your blood.

How to store Loniten (Minoxidil) 2.5mg tablets

 

Keep this
medicine out of the sight and reach of children.

This
medicinal product does not require any special storage conditions.

Do not use
this medicine after the expiry date, which is stated on the carton after the
letters EXP.

The expiry
date refers to the last day of that month.

Do not throw away any
